CH2-Explore Activity: Blogger Versus Wordpress

After researching both Wordpress and Blogger, I have found the following differences between the software.

• While Blogger is a free website, Wordpress blogging software comes in two different versions.  Wordpress.com allows users to use the software for free.  On the other hand, Wordpress.org allows users to use their blogging software, but requires bloggers to pay another hosting provider for their blog.
• Wordpress does not allow users to include advertisements, while Blogger allows users to get paid for displaying ads with Google AdSense. 
• Wordpress allows users to create various types of blogs, including:  a personal blog, photo blog, magazine or news website, etc.  Blogger allows users to create a simple blog that can include videos, pictures and links.
• Blogger's mobile site is easily accessible on mobile devices.  However, I believe that Wordpress requires a plug-in to use their mobile site. 

After researching the two sites, I think that Blogger is a better site to use for the novice blogger, while Wordpress is a better match for experienced bloggers who are trying to reach a wider audience.
